Despite the importance of civic engagement, we are not effectively educating and engaging our young people in civics.

According to the Nation’s Report Card, Civics and U.S. History scores are at all time lows. Here are other resources on the state of civics learning in the US.

Civics In America

In 2021-2022, 16 states adopted measures to strengthen K-12 civic education.
In 2023, an additional 14 states adopted similar measures.
With bipartisan support, New Hampshire successfully mandated K-5 civic instruction time, investing $1,000,000 in text books.
Minnesota mandated civic education at the high school level, committing $300,000 to programming with bipartisan support.
